NRF Center
for Digital Risk & Innovation

The NRF Center for Digital Risk & Innovation is the National Retail Federation’s hub for engagement on key technology issues that have significant policy and risk management implications for the global retail industry.

The Center engages with retailers, industry partners and other stakeholders to develop guidelines and recommended best practices on technology issues, and inform decision-making and risk management by retail business leaders.

Our mission

The work of the Center is intended to develop best practices and guidance for retailers on key technology issues and amplify the voice of the retail industry in technology policy debates.

Retail tech councils

The Center for Digital Risk & Innovation expands on the work of NRF’s existing councils and working groups.

Areas of focus

The initial areas of focus for the Center include cybersecurity, fraud prevention and artificial intelligence. The Center will carry out projects and release topical reports on these issues over the coming year. NRF will be adding additional areas of focus to the Center within the next year.

Led by NRF Vice President of Retail Technology and Cybersecurity Christian Beckner, the Center for Digital Risk & Innovation will be governed by an external advisory board comprised of senior-level retail technology executives, industry partners, academics and other subject matter experts.
